Introduction
A 2-day National Education Conclave was held (March 23–24, 2023) at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi to celebrate Hansraj College’s Platinum Jubilee (75th anniversary).
The Conclave’s main topic was “India of the Future and Higher Education.” Reputable academicians, government servants, Union and State ministers, researchers, subject-matter experts, policymakers, students, and scholars gathered to talk and deliberate on the numerous facets of higher education in India, as well as its prospects and difficulties.
The institution has planned numerous lectures, seminars, the launch of a new scientific building, a canteen, research centres, and other buildings with modern facilities as part of its year-long celebrations.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kailash Choudhary, an IPS Madhur Verma, the Chairman of the Asian Academy of Film and Television, Sandeep Marwah, a Senior Academician, Prof. Jagmohan Singh Rajput, the Founder of Samkalp IAS Coaching, Santosh Taneja, and the Vice Chancellor of the Shri Vishwakarma Raj Nehru University: Skill University in Haryana, Prof. Sushma Yadav, and everyone else were present for this celebration.
Day 1

The prevalence of mental health concerns among children and adolescents has increased, according to Prof. Yogesh Singh. He emphasised that the need to give pupils a secure and all-encompassing atmosphere is on the educational institution. He emphasised the need for a strong educational system that gives pupils the skills they need to deal with both mental and emotional difficulties.

The visitors discussed a range of subjects, such as multidisciplinary research and education, India’s goal and road towards becoming the Vishwaguru as demonstrated by the NEP and G-20 Presidency, as well as the function and significance of Indian languages in India’s future.
Amrit Varsha Celebration
Hansraj College was founded on July 26th, and to celebrate its foundation day, Amrit Varsha is going to be organised as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The first ceremony of the Amrit Mahotsav festivities of the Hansraj College Foundation Day will take place on July 26, 2022, with the Honourable Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu, serving as the Chief Guest. The reporters were briefed by Prof. Rama, the college’s principal, on the specifics of this programme.
She stated that prominent luminaries, including Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, Padma Shri recipient Dr. Punam Suri, President of the Management Committee of Hansraj College, and Dr. Shiv Raman Gaur, Treasurer of Hansraj College, would attend the programme in addition to the Indian Vice President.
A number of academic and cultural events will commemorate this momentous year, beginning with the Platinum Jubilee celebrations’ opening ceremony on July 26.
History of Hansraj College Foundation
The DAV association constructed Hansraj College, one of the premier institutions linked to the University of Delhi, on July 26, 1948. Bharat Ratna recipient and the first president of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, ceremonially opened the contemporary college facility. The college has contributed to the development of the nation throughout the previous three-quarters of its existence in a wide range of sectors, including academia, sports, culture, politics, and industry, among many others.
The college has produced a number of accomplished individuals, including Sri Kiren Rijiju, Cabinet Minister of Law and Justice; Honourable Sri Om Prakash Kohli, Former Governor of Gujarat; King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan; female fighter plane pilot Gunjan Saxena; Padma Shri recipient Tomio Mizokami (Japan); Sri Gopal Subramanium, who was the Former Solicitor General of India; and a host of other illustrious civil servants and experts in the fields of education and culture.
The presentation of a statue of Mahatma Hansraj on the college campus will kick off the celebration of the Amrit Mahotsav of the college’s Foundation Day, according to the college principal, who also informed the reporters that a number of academic and cultural events will follow. For its Mahatma Hansraj Memorial Lecture series, the college intends to invite renowned academics throughout the year. The institution intends to provide facilities on campus for the improvement of wellness and rehabilitation, women’s empowerment, the development of human resources, and environmental conservation.
The intention to honour 75 college graduates in recognition of their contributions to the corporate life of the school will make the 75th anniversary festivities of its foundation even more meaningful.
She also told the reporters that the institution would sponsor 25 faculty members’ research projects and host 75 seminars, conferences, and workshops in its many departments and societies on a national and international scale. The college also intends to hold cultural programmes, contests, and related events throughout the year.
Conclusion
At the conclusion of the 2-day conclave, a Rashtriya Kavi Sammelan was also held. Several well-known poets were invited, and the poetry session was met with a loud ovation from the crowd of thousands of attendees.
After the event was over, Prof. Rama, the principal of Hansraj College, gave a lecture about the college’s history, DAV tradition, and Mahatma Hansraj’s contribution to nation-building and education in India.
