About Cinewalkers FILM CLUB of Bharati College
The Cine walkers ,Film Club of Bharati College which screens a rich fare of meaningful and entertaining films from across the world ,was instituted in August 2013. It organizes weekly screenings of multi-lingual and multi-genre mainstream, parallel cinema and documentaries on a weekly basis . The Screening of eclectic variety of movies from world cinema are followed by intense discussion sessions. The screenings are usually held on Thursdays, from 1.15 pm to 3.15 pm.
The aim of Cine walkers, the film club, of Bharati College, is to expose students to cinema as an art form and to its historical evolution. It educates and empowers students by analysing the cinematic medium and probs into various issues which it puts into the public domain. This club creatively employs the cinematic medium for pertinent interventions on socially relevant issues.
The Film Club is run by a Committee of five student representatives – President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Media Coordinator – and a Faculty Coordinator.
The Film Club has also set up a small DVD Library of film adaptations of novels in the Bharati College Library. The collection has film adaptations of many of the texts prescribed for the CBCS BA English (Hons) syllabus. Students can issue them through their teachers for screening in Library Computer Lab, Seminar Room or Theatre Room.
