The University of Delhi released the list of vacant seats for the DU UG admission on 25 August 2024. The issued list displays 6,100 seats available for round 2 of DU UG admission. In the first round, 65,843 students were admitted to the university, filling 91.98 % of the total seats. As per the university guidelines, students must confirm these seats by 27 August, before 4:59 PM. The colleges are also instructed to finalise the admission by August 29, 2024. The deadline for students to pay the admission fee is August 30, 2024.
The DU UG admission seat allotment results are available on the official DU CSAS portal. Candidates who applied for the 2nd round of allotment can check their results online. These candidates must complete their admission and verification by August 30, 2024. The list is also displayed on DU’s official website https://www.du.ac.in/ and https://admission.uod.ac.in/.
According to the Press Release, the university will be offering admissions to approx—71,600 seats across 69 colleges, departments and centres. Additionally, the university will allocate additional seats to commence the session on August 29. In round 2, a total of 24,869 fresh seat allocations were completed. While 27,554 candidates have applied for an upgrade to higher preference choices. This year, the admission process will cover 1,559 programmes and college combinations.
The University of Delhi will also reconsider the admission of candidates who were rejected in the 1st round due to invalid documents. According to the university’s policy, these reconsiderations will be in the unreserved category based on merit, preferences, subject and seat availability.
The candidates will be required to submit their documents for DU UG admission in the 2nd round. The key documents for DU UG admission and counselling processes are:
- CUET UG 2024 Marksheet
- Class 12th Marksheet and Certificate
- Class 10th Certificate and Marksheet (indicating Date of Birth and Parents’ Name)
- Transfer Certificate from School
- Migration Certificate
- Category Certificate- Issued by competent authority (if applicable)
- Passport Sized Photograph
- Provisional Certificate
- Character Certificate
- Address Proof ( Aadhar card Voter ID or Passport)
These important documents are needed to be produced by the candidate for college admission. It may be noted that the students need to carry both the original and photocopies of the document required.
Earlier this month the University of Delhi began the allocation process offering 97,387 seats in the first round. To ensure optimal seat occupancy, the administration has decided to make extra allocations. The DU UG admission is expected to be conducted in three rounds of the counselling process. These rounds will be followed by the final spot rounds based on available seats.
This year, DU has also introduced a feature of candidate dashboards on their website. The feature enables candidates to view the details of cut-offs, ranks and seats. This will help them in determining the seat allocation based on category and quota.
The university also said that 97,387 allocations have been made in the first round. This allocation excludes allocations for the performance-based programs and supernumerary quotas of CW, ECA, Sports and Ward, and Christian candidates.
