About NSS of Daulat Ram College
The NSS Unit of Daulat Ram College focuses on involvement of students in various activities of social service and national development which makes a contribution to socio economic progress of the nation. It also provides opportunities to the students to understand the problems of the communities, to generate social consciousness and inculcate in them a sense of dignity of labour. Our volunteers work to ensure that anyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to students in delivering community service by organizing Blood Donation Camps, International Yoga Day, Self-defence training, Not-for-profit Diwali mela, Senior Citizen Day, Aagaaz-the Social Annual fest, Cleanliness Drives, Awareness Drives to sensitize students about problems of Divyang Students, Walkathons for Fit India, and many more. Volunteers who complete 120, 200 or 300 hours of social service in an academic session are awarded merit certificates. During covid pandemic, NSS DRC has launched three project, Project Itminaan, Campaign Parwaah and Project Avni.
PROJECTS
- Project Itminaan, with the tagline bread for every breath, is a hunger alleviation project under which we have fed more than 7500 strays all over India, till date.
- Project Parwaah was launched on 8th July 2020 with an aim to create awareness about mental health. NSS DRC has conducted 25 webinars under the campaign so far, to create awareness about mental health during the pandemic.
- Project Avni, a recently launched project by NSS DRC, aims to create awareness and take steps to fight against climate change and make the mother earth green and clean again.
