The admissions process for the 2024–25 academic session is currently going on. Delhi University is providing admission to almost 71,000 seats in more than 65 colleges through the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG). The CUET full form is the Common University Entrance Test. It was introduced in its new form by the NTA, in collaboration with the UGC, in 2020. CUET is the best way for UG admission in DU.
CUET has immediately become the most suitable and popular entrance exam for Indian students who want to take admission to top-notch government and private universities. CUET has helped overhaul the whole admissions procedure for PG and UG admission in DU, and other institutions like state universities, and private universities. Currently, CUET Phase I and Phase II are going on.
Delhi University started Phase II of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for undergraduate admissions this Friday, following the clearance of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG results by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The university has also released the allocation-cum-admission schedule for the 2024–25 academic session.
Even though Phase II has started, Phase I registration is still open. Candidates can still register for undergraduate or UG admission in DU until August 7th at 4.59 p.m.
During Phase II, applicants are required to match the subjects they studied in Class 12 with those they appeared for in the CUET UG 2024 examination. Only CUET subjects corresponding to subjects passed in board exams will count for admissions.
After the completion of Phases I and II of the CSAS, a simulated rank list will be released on August 11. Students will have the opportunity to revise their preference list from 5 p.m. on August 11 until 11.59 p.m. on August 12.
The first merit list for UG admission in DU is set to be published on August 16 at 5 p.m. Students can accept their seats from 5 p.m. on August 16 to 4.59 p.m. on August 18. With this, colleges will verify and approve the online applications of the students.
The academic session was initially decided to start on August 1 but was delayed due to the late declaration of CUET results by the NTA amid all the allegations of discrepancies in the NEET and UGC-NET examinations.
This year, DU has launched a single girl child quota under its supernumerary category, enabling a single girl child to be admitted based on marks across various courses. It will also attract more girl students for UG admission in DU.
