The University of Delhi on Tuesday released the admission data based on the first round of counseling. In the first round of DU UG admission, a total of 46,171 students secured their seats out of 71,600 seats available. The classes for the first year will start from August 29, 2024.
According to the statement, the first round concluded at 4:59 PM on Wednesday. The DU UG admission round saw 83,678 students accept the college and course combinations offered. Among these, 46,171 students have already confirmed their seats by paying the required fees. Around 11,224 students have only ‘frozen’ their seats. Meanwhile, 27,613 have opted for an upgrade in the allotted college and course preference. These numbers indicate that students are taking additional time to finalize their decisions.
In this DU UG admission round, the offer was extended to 97,387 students. The last date for the online payment was until 21 August to secure admissions. On 22nd August, the University will display a list of vacant seats on the official website’s dashboard. The Second allotment round will commence with this display of vacant seats in the colleges.
During the second DU UG admission round, a correction window will be open for the students. This window will provide students with an opportunity to re-order their higher preferences. The preferences may include colleges, courses or a combination of both. The university will allow changes in the window after 5 pm on 22nd August, right after the declaration of vacant seats. The students can rearrange their preferences till 4:59 PM the next day i.e., 23rd August 2024.
Under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Round 1, 50% seats of DU have been filled. With 75% of seats occupied in major subjects at North Campus colleges. The second list of seat allotments will be displayed on August 25 at 5 PM. From there, the admission process will begin on August 26th. The candidates can accept the allotted seat till 27th August. The candidates’ applications will be accepted till 29th August. The last date for online payment in the 2nd DU UG admission round is August 30 till 4:59 PM.
Delhi University is set to begin the first year of classes on 29 August for the academic year 2024-25. There has been a delay from 1st August due to the postponement of CUET results. The colleges have started to prepare for the Orientation program for the freshers of Academic Year 2024-25.
The first round of the CSAS allocation list was released on 16th August at 5:00 PM. The students had a time of 2 days from August 16 to August 18 till 4:59 PM to accept the seat. The acceptance was matched with verification and approval by the college from August 16 to August 20, 2024. After the conclusion of the 2nd round, additional rounds may be announced based on seat availability.
The DU UG admission is taking place in 3 phases. Phase 1 is for registration, Phase 2 is for filling college and course combinations and Phase 3 is for seat allocation. This year, DU is going to fill over 70,000 seats in various disciplines.
